How to Build Your Business Online

  • Posted by Blog Administrator - November 6, 2018

Business owners — are you looking for ways to find real, sustainable growth online? It's time to get your message out there and get those leads rolling in. Fidelity Communications is here to help. We've been providing business communication services to customers in Missouri for nearly 80 years. Today we're going to share what we've learned in the last few decades about growing businesses with you.

We're here to help you build your business online, whether you're a single-employee, work-from-home business, a mid-size company with one or more locations, or an enterprise-sized organization of 1,000 people or more. When you combine Fidelity's Business Services with these quick tips for growing your business online, you'll see more traffic in no time flat.

First off, a few tips for the little guys…

Did you know that nearly half of all small businesses don't have a website? You don't have to be a tech whiz to see the problem there. If you don't have a website, how will customers find you? At the very least, you should have a one-page site with your hours of operation, contact info, and a short description of the services you offer or the products you sell. It's easier than you think to set up a website, and you can get yours set up today with Wix or Squarespace. If that still seems intimidating, you can start out with just listing your business info with Google, using Google's Small Business Marketing Solutions. Be sure to take full advantage of what Google has to offer; utilizing the full scale of their free resources will put you a step ahead of the competition. Of course, to maintain a strong online presence, you'll need powerful, reliable Business Internet. We offer a variety of internet speed packages and other business services, which you can find here.

Now we're going to move on to Mid-Sized Businesses...

Medium-Sized Businesses usually already have a strong identity established in the online marketplace, but that doesn't mean that there aren't things they can improve online as well. The step from small to medium-sized business often brings with it a lot of logistical problems, especially concerning communications. High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) will go a long way toward streamlining communication.

Now let's talk about something less technical and much more interesting—online advertising.

Did you know you can manage your own online advertising? All you really need is an internet connection and a laptop. Between Google Ad Services and Facebook Business Ads Manager, you've got some really incredible online advertising tools that will help you drill down directly to your customer, no matter where they are. Both of these programs can be operated by you, the business owner, with just a little bit of training, and they'll allow you to reach massive online audiences (combined they control over 60% of the online advertising market in the U.S.).

Big companies want to make a big impact, too…

Big companies can sometimes feel like the 800 lb. gorilla in the room. Everybody knows they're there, but nobody wants to talk about them. Big businesses usually have two main obstacles to online growth: 1) systems management and 2) lack of enthusiasm; people just don't get as excited about big businesses as they do about the Mom-&-Pop shops that are run by their neighbors and relatives.

We'll tackle #1 first:

Large companies usually have their online systems squared away, because they have to, because large businesses thrive on organization. But the bigger these businesses get the more organization they need, and the more technical support they need to keep everything running smoothly. Pretty soon, the IT department is overworked and over budget. If your organization needs help setting up secure networks for High-Speed Internet, or if you are looking to replace your outdated phone systems with a full-service, Unified Communications platform, we can help with that. We can help you control your IT costs and establish more reliable systems with built-in redundancy.

#2 How to build excitement when you're a big brand:

Most consumers want the large companies they do business with to just be there when they need them and not stand out in any way. The trouble is, as a big business owner, you know you need to make a strong impression on their hearts and minds so they'll choose you over the other guy. One of the best ways to do this is by building an emotional connection through cable commercial advertising. Large companies can build an emotional connection with their audience by featuring business leadership or a spokesperson in their commercials. A friendly face gives consumers someone to connect with, someone they'll remember the next time they need your products or services. When you sign up for commercial production and cable broadcast advertising with is, you'll get an affordable, cost-effective advertising solution, and your commercials will be broadcast during the very best programming on our cable channels.

We provide service to around 85,000 business and residential customers in five states, so we've seen the difference it makes when a business puts the effort in to create a top-notch digital presence. With our Business Services and your online messaging and strategy, your business will be growing in no time.
