Fidelity To Launch Upgraded Sports Tier With NFL Redzone August 2

Fidelity Communication’s SportsView tier is adding NFL Redzone and expanding to all Fidelity TV markets effective August 2, the company announced.

The tier will grow to 18 primary channels, highlighted by NFL Redzone, MLB Strikezone, five ESPN networks, plus Outside TV, One World Sports and TVG2. Redzone was previously offered as a standalone channel for $50.00 a season, but will now be part of the $7.99 SportsView tier.

Video Product Manager Loren King said that at $7.99, Fidelity’s SportsView is one of the best deals in the cable market today for the ultimate sports fan.  Dish Network is currently offering their similar package for $13. Most Fidelity customers will receive a free preview of the new SportsView during August.

The new networks on SportsView are:

NFL Redzone, a special game-day only channel. The channel prides itself on showing "every touchdown from every game" and tracking various statistical accomplishments throughout the afternoon.  RedZone monitors coverage of the traditional Sunday afternoon "early" games and 3:05/3:25 p.m. "late" games with coverage ending about 7 p.m. RedZone provides "whiparound" simulcast coverage of all Sunday afternoon games airing in-progress on CBS and FOX.

MLB Strikezone takes viewers on a high-speed trip around Major League Baseball on Tuesday and Friday nights during the regular season. When live game telecasts air on MLB Network, MLB Network Strike Zone will bring fans to every game across the league, with up-to-the-minute highlights, live look-ins and updates, all commercial-free.   

Outside TV is the only national programming network dedicated to the active outside lifestyle and the more than 141 million Americans who regularly participate. Based on Outside magazine, Outside Television embraces running, biking, skiing, hiking, sailing, surfing, kayaking, snowshoeing and any other adventures involving wind, water, snow and terrain; as well as the full spectrum of the people’s lives who engage in them.

TVG2 is dedicated to horse racing and broadcasts events from U.S. and international racetracks, as well as a range of English and Western horse competitions, news, original programming and documentaries. Programming includes regular and special stakes races from Santa Anita Park, Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park, Arlington Park, Pimlico Race Course, NYRA, and numerous other top U.S. and international racetracks.

ONE World Sports is a multiplatform sports network featuring exclusive best-in-class sporting events, live from around the globe. It delivers live and exclusive coverage of some of America’s most popular sports played outside the USA – basketball, baseball, golf and ice hockey. ONE World Sports showcases some of the world’s best soccer, including Chelsea FC, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich and the New York Cosmos, along with top soccer from Asia and the Pacific Rim. 

It also carries cricket matches, Kontinental and Champions Hockey Leagues, Chinese Basketball Association, OneAsia Golf Tour, and the top competitions in table tennis and badminton from around the world.

Rounding out the tier are MAV TV, Outdoor Channel, RFD-TV, Sportsman Channel, ESPN Bases Loaded, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Classic, ESPN Goal Line, Discovery life, FOX Sports 2, MLB Network, NFL Network, FOX Sports, ESPNews, and FCS Atlantic, Central and Pacific.
