Fidelity names Kip McVey to head Texas and Louisiana Systems
SULLIVAN, MISSOURI, August 11, 2014—Kip McVey has been named General Manager of Fidelity Communications' Texas and Louisiana systems, the company has announced.
McVey is one of three general managers Fidelity Communications recently named to consolidate its markets in Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana under the leadership of a dedicated manager in each state. He is responsible for systems serving Marshall, Carthage, Atlanta, Queen City, Hallsville and Jefferson, Texas and the New Roads, Louisiana area.
"I want to establish a well-rounded support staff, not only for installations and trouble resolution, but one involving our local customer service representatives for a more enhanced, improved experience for our customers," McVey said, "I will also do everything possible to make sure our pricing is as competitive as it can be."
He added, "Since we are still new to the Marshall and New Roads areas, our brand recognition needs to be improved dramatically so people know who we are. I want to make Fidelity Communications a household name."
Since taking the job, McVey's team has been working to repair noise issues affecting Internet connectivity for customers in the Texas markets, attacking the problem one node at a time. A node is equipment serving a certain number of households in each area. Some of the problems are due to water intervention in fiber optic cable buried underground. Fidelity purchased the Texas and Louisiana systems from Cobridge Communications in 2012.
Kip, along with his wife and two daughters, recently moved to the Little Rock, Arkansas area. Kip attended Dodge City Community College, near the family farm in Kismet, Kansas where he was born and raised.
McVey has over 13 years' experience in the cable industry, most recently at Custom Cable Services Inc. as Vice President of Installation Services. Prior to that, he was Director of Marketing and Business Development at Mill-Tell, Inc. where he managed a team of 34 employees.
"Kip brings a depth of experience in both telephony and cable services," said Executive General Manager Andy Davis. "As we continue to grow into new areas and provide new technologies and services, it's important to have a dedicated manager in each state. These new managers are solely committed to making sure we are taking great care of our customers and providing the highest level of customer support."
