sign says: stop robocalls now nomorobo

How does Nomorobo work? It uses a feature known as "Simultaneous Ring". When simultaneous ring is enabled, your phone will ring on more than one number at the same time. The first device to pick it up gets the call and the other phones stop ringing.

Therefore, when the Nomorobo number is enabled as a simultaneous ring number, it is the first number to screen the call. If it's a legitimate call, the call goes through to your number. If the call is an illegal robocaller, Nomorobo intercepts the call and hangs up for you. Your phone will ring once, letting you know that the robocall has been answered and stopped.

Once Nomorobo has been enabled and verified, just use your phone like normal. The only thing that you should do is to wait for the second ring to answer the phone, as Nomorobo needs the first ring to detect robocallers. If you only hear one ring and then it stops, you know a robocaller was just blocked. If the phone continues ringing, you should answer it.

The only numbers that are blocked are illegal robocallers and spammers; doctor's offices, prescription reminders, school closings, weather advisories, etc, will still be verified. If by some chance you would have a legitimate call blocked, Nomorobo has a reporting feature that allows you to add the blocked number to a white list, preventing the number from being blocked in the future.

Occasionally, a robocaller or a telemarketer will slip through. Just like spam, these groups keep changing their tactics and Nomorobo keeps adapting. If you do get a robocall, there is registry where you may report these numbers so that Nomorobo can add it to their blocked registry.

If you ever wish to disable robocall blocking, click the 'Disable' button next to your number in your Nomorobo Account Portal. Then simply follow the instructions to complete.
