Fidelity Communications Awards $1,000 Grant to CASA of the Third Judicial District

July 20, 2021 โ€“ Hardy, Ark. โ€“ Fidelity Communications, a member of the Cable One family of brands, recently awarded a $1,000 grant to CASA of the Third Judicial District through the company's Charitable Giving Fund, which launched in January 2021. Through this program, the company awarded more than $100,000 in grants earlier this summer to 30 nonprofit organizations across its 24-state footprint.

CASA of the Third Judicial District, which recruits, trains and supports court appointed volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the foster care system, received the grant from Fidelity to help fund more insight and guidance programs bringing community awareness and education to the public.

"Bringing community awareness and more insight to older kids in the foster care system will improve their quality of life," said Roxanne Byram, Executive Director of CASA of the Third Judicial District. "CASA of the Third Judicial District wants to pair a trained volunteer with every abused and/or neglected child who needs one, because children with a CASA volunteer spend less time in out โ€“of-home care and experience fewer placements. More than 90% of children with a CASA volunteer never re-enter the system after the case is closed."

The Charitable Giving Fund, which will annually award $200,000 in grants to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations served by Fidelity and the other Cable One family of brands (Sparklight®, Clearwave®, ValuNet Fiber and Hargray), concentrates support in the following priority areas:

Nonprofit organizations will have the opportunity to apply for a grant during open application periods each spring and fall. Applications for fall 2021 grants will open between October 1 - 31, 2021.
