Nomorobo uses a feature known as "Simultaneous Ring" in order to flag suspected robocalls. When simultaneous ring is enabled, the customer phone will ring on a Nomorobo number, and the customer number at the same time. The first device to pick it up gets the call and the other phones stop ringing. When the Nomorobo number is enabled as a simultaneous ring number, it is the first number to screen the call. If it's scored by Nomorobo, using their analytical tools, as a legitimate call, the call goes through to the customer number. If the call is scored as an illegal robocaller, Nomorobo intercepts the call and hangs up. The customer phone will ring once, letting the customer know that the robocall has been answered and stopped/blocked.

This Robocall Mitigation Solution is designed to leverage the existing Caller ID Name infrastructure and data analytics to detect and warn customers on their devices of suspect, robocall activity. The service is automatically provided to customers free of charge.
Neustar analytics identify patterns of suspected illegal robocalls and score these calls based on their behavior and/or their status as suspected robocalls as reported to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and reported by other carriers.
For telephone numbers identified as having a high probability of conducting fraudulent activity, the response to a Caller Name (CNAM) query is overlaid with an appropriate alert - "SPAM?" or "Fraudulent Call".
